Last week I got to enter the home of Sarah and her family.  If your an instagram fanatic like me (yes I admit it)  you may have already seen her account @sarahplustwoandjax.  If not then head on over and have a look.  It’s full of gorgeous pics, playtime, chubby little legs, pooh bears and little anecdotes of spending her days with her boys.  She already takes great pics herself but the aim was to get mum in the pics doing what she does best being a mum to her kids and wife to her hubby Alex.  Something for Sarah and her family to look back on and remember this time in her life in this home they have created together.  What it looked like but more importantly what it felt like….

Since it’s Mother’s day I wanted to get Sarah’s view on being a mum.  There is something uplifting, comforting and relieving to hear the thoughts and experiences of other mothers.

Motherhood…. In a child’s eyes, a mother is a goddess. She can be glorious or terrible, benevolent or filled with wrath, but she commands love either way. I am convinced that this is the greatest power in the universe. Motherhood….It’s beautiful, powerful, challenging, heart melting, consuming, joyful….. I love being a mum. My two boys challenge me every single day. Somedays it’s easy and everything flows, other days we struggle but most days it’s perfect and I know that I wouldn’t have it any other way. I keep journals for my boys so I can remember the things we did and the things they said. I take lots of pictures of everything and nothing. I love that they are little and I can protect them, I want them to stay small but I also want them to grow and watch them turn into fine young men. What a creative beautiful job I was given.storyboard001storyboard002storyboard003storyboard004storyboard005storyboard006storyboard007storyboard008storyboard009storyboard010storyboard011storyboard012storyboard013storyboard014storyboard015storyboard016storyboard017storyboard018storyboard019storyboard020storyboard021storyboard022storyboard023storyboard024storyboard025storyboard026storyboard027storyboard028storyboard029storyboard030  Wishing you all a Happy Mother’s Day!  xox

Tree swings

Yesterday (again, can never get to a blog post on the same day) was spent visiting our friends at their new place out in the country (well what you would call country if you lived in metro sydney ) where backyards are big enough to still have chickens and tree swings and you can hear the birds all day long….. My heart smiles for them

The Parton Family

Every family we photograph is a bit of a treat.  Getting to see the little moments between a family is very special but photographing this family was extra special for me because I know their story.  This beautiful child Scout has been long awaited.  I met Ami a couple of years ago at church and we instantly started talking each other’s ears off.  I started following Ami on instagram and then read her blog.  Ami has endometriosis so it hasn’t been easy to fall pregnant but after 5 years they found out they had fallen pregnant naturally right before they were going to start IVF!  I can actually still remember when Ami told me she had a new doctor and she was 90% sure they could get pregnant naturally.  I remember the excitement in her voice!  I also remember her instagram post when she announced she was pregnant, I shed a tear of happiness for her and watched her get crafty as she awaited her bundle of joy (isn’t social media fab!  I may also sound like a complete stalker but i’m not I swear).  So now she is here and she is perfect and they are the perfect little family….

Mini sessions…. raw, honest, kids being kids!

Mini sessions announced!  I’m really excited about this!  So much so that it may just have to be an annually or half yearly thing or maybe more often who knows.  But anyway lets just roll with this and see how it goes.  This is for the kids.  Raw, honest, giggling, not listening, shy, screaming, karate kicking kids. I want to see them and photograph them at their best… REAL!  So if you want to dress them cutsey, hipstery or in their dress up’s you can do that but I want to see them as they are!  I’ll also ask you to send through a few words about them.  Tell us what they are like, a few of their favourite things so we know what to be prepared for!

So first step is to email us at to book your spot and then lets go from there!
